Six Bells Sea Angling Club 1st May 2010

Saturday the 1st may anglers from the six bells sea angling club from wales had a great day out on with Bite Adventures. There was plenty of pollack to 12 pound and a nice cod of 8 pound. We had 10 plus fish in double figures and plenty more close to double figures.

Cod and Pollack 29th April 2010

Starting the boat season with a bang Steve Coleman caught a fantastic Pollack weighing in at 10.4.0 in 70 ft of water giving a great fight. He also had his first cod of 7 pounds. Unfortunately the picture does it no justice. Another great day had by all.

Chippy’s Best weaver of the season so far. Only 3 oz short of the British Record.

The Cuckoo Wrasse are now showing in numbers.

This Fantastic Pollock weighing in at 13lbs 10oz shows just how good the boat fishing is this time of year (4th May 2008) on the ‘Bite Adventures’ boat. All anglers on this trip caught well with a combined weight of 30 stone with all fish in the 8 to 12LB range. Fishing Red Gills proved to be just what the pollock wanted. Thanks again to all who fished this great day out.

What a great Pollack caught on a Red Gill by Chantelle Hollins. This fish came in at a whopping 16lb. What a great catch Chantelle and thanks to everyone for a great day on the Bite Adventures.

Sunday 21st July 2008 – Shark fishing trip

Some great pictures of a few great days shark fishing on the Bite Adventures off the Cornish Coast. As is our policy all sharks where returned unharmed. In 3 days 12 sharks where caught with the largest weighing a massive 116lbs.

Here you can see the Mackerel bait has ran up the line. The shark fishing around the Cornish coast is so good due to amount of mackerel that are available to these magnificent predators

Friday 29th August 2008 – Cornish Shark Fishing

Massive Porbeagle Sharks are now showing. This 196lb Porbeagle Shark was caught by Phil Bolland which fought constantly stripping line on many occasions. Well done Phil and thanks for a great day. Sport such as this can only be found with passionate and experienced skippers such as Chippy making the Bite Adventures on of the best Cornish Fishing Charters

Tuesday 26th August 2008 – Cornish Shark Fishing

Chippies better half had a great days Cornish Shark fishing – A WHOPPING 103.68lb blue shark giving great sport on the Bite Adventures.

The first Porbeagle Shark of the year was also caught on the same day – a massive 120lb. What a great start and one hell of a scrap !

As always all sharks where returned unharmed to fight another day

Species hunt week of 9th June 2009

We started out on Tuesday the 2nd of June chasing 20 species for the week , weather permitting it should have been plain sailing.
Tuesday 2nd 14 foot tide headed out to a favored wreck to start, with a light wind forecast from the east south east it was shaping up to be a great day, but within 20 minutes of shooting the sand anchor the wind began to freshen to a 5 or 6 not nice. good old weather forecast. I sat it out with the wind against tide keeping us away from the wreck, producing Pouting, Ling, Whiting, and Cuckoo Wrasse , to small hooked baited feathers and running ledgers, Mackerel being the best of the baits.
It was soon time to head for calmer waters, running to an inside wreck it was looking like the weather was going to have the last laugh.

The Wednesday was looking much better so we headed around Lands End for a crack at Sennen cove sand Banks, this produced all 4 of the Gurnard, Grey, Tub, Red, and the Streak. Nice bit of sport on the light tackle with Sand eel out fishing the Mackerel baits, but as the tide eased up it was looking like a dog fish bay, not my cup of tea.
On the beginning of the flood i was of to fish the Reefs with jelly worms for a bit of light sport, this producing fish to the 8 pound mark, great rod bending action.
The Thursday was a right of to the weather east 6 – 7 .
The friday saw us in Porth Curnow, again with light tackle offering long thin pieces of Mackerel or snake lance. the fish came thick and fast from Weaver, to Place , and Dabs on the drift and as soon as the Anchor went over the first fish was a great 6.8.0 Turbot, nice way to end a hot and still day.

Again on the Saturday we was back under the rain and wind, so we headed out to bait fish the inshore reefs with baits of Mackerel Sand eel Squid and Crab. usual species started to feed but nothing of any great size to speak of. At around 2 in the afternoon i headed for an inshore reef to anchor for the slack water to try again for an eel , first fish to come aboard was species number 20 a Red Bream taken on a tiny strip of Mackerel on a 6 pound class outfit, great bit of sport. Then it was time for some fun on the eels and species number 21 with the best 2 eels going to 35 and 30 pound but in 90 foot of water they really try to get back to the bottom with great power on 20/ 30 pound class outfits.

A great week was had by all. Simon and Jim Brown will be Chartering the Bite again for a 5 day sharking session in August i think they will find this a totally different challenge.
